Located in the TEDA Industrial Park of Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone, the project represents one of the largest Chinese industrial investments in Egypt with a total investment of USD 1 billion.
The project will be developed in three phases. Phase I, scheduled to commence operation in 2026, will produce 3 million passenger car tires and 600,000 truck and bus tires annually, creating around 1,500 jobs. Once fully completed, the plant’s annual capacity will exceed 10 million tires, serving not only the Egyptian market but also regional and global markets.
Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of SCZONE, highlighted that the project is a key driver of automotive industry localization and demonstrates growing investor confidence in the region.
As Sailun’s core production base in Africa, the new plant will complement its facilities in China, Southeast Asia, and North America, further advancing the company’s global strategy.
